When we started DelawareCAN five years ago, we set out to be a principled and urgent voice on behalf of Delaware’s students and families. Since that time, DelawareCAN has built a reputation as an organization that will always put kids first and will fight hard to get policy wins that improve Delaware schools.
I am excited to announce the next chapter in DelawareCAN’s story: Britney Mumford is joining our team as the new Executive Director. A born and bred Delawarean, Britney attended Caesar Rodney High in Camden before earning her Bachelor’s in Political Science at East Carolina University. She has spent the last decade working for various political and advocacy campaigns and is excited to put her grassroots experience to work for her home state.
As the legislative session in Delaware draws to a close at the end of this month, there are many pieces of education-focused legislation that are at the heart of the DelawareCAN mission. Britney, myself and the entire DelawareCAN team are committed to ensuring that these key policies, focused on creating a more equitable education landscape and improving the educational experience of every student, are put into practice in the coming months. We look forward to your continued support as we take on these challenges together.

Thank you for being a key part of our mission to put kids first. Britney and I look forward to our continuing partnership with you.
