Teacher, Indian River High School

Chantalle Ashford is a chorus, English, and special education teacher at Indian River High School. She completed her high school career in Delaware’s public schools and returned to the state as an educator through Teach For America-Delaware in 2014. She has received awards for her work with students inside and outside of the classroom. In 2016, she was selected by the Delaware Department of Education as an Educators as Catalysts policy intern. In this capacity, she worked with state leaders on a proposal to increase the diversity of Delaware’s educator workforce. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching degree through the Relay Graduate School of Education and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Africana Studies from the College of William and Mary.
